Jerry Perry was born February 3, 1955, in Denmark, MS. He was the sixth child born to the union of Edgar Tom and Emma Grace Buford Perry.
Jerry accepted Christ and was baptized in a pond at the age of ten and united with Valley Chapel CME Church under the leadership of Rev. Brown Simmons.
He was a graduate of Lafayette High School’s class of 1972. He soon relocated to Aurora, IL and entered the manufacturing industry, working 31 years for Caterpillar Tractor Company as a welder. Later, after retirement, he relocated back to Oxford.
Jerry loved people and remained in contact with his family, school mates, coworkers, friends, and especially his “Biker Group,” The Brothers of Souls.” He loved riding his Harley and rode it until his health failed.
After rekindling an old flame, on December 28, 1999, he married Martha J. Lockhart.
On Thursday, May 25, 2023, Jerry passed away at Baptist Memorial Hospital - North Mississippi in Oxford, MS.
He leaves wonderful memories to his wife, Martha of Oxford, MS; children, Randy Farrow of Memphis, TN, Jerome (Tameca) Glover of Aurora, IL, LaShone (Imonia) Parham of Oxford, MS; Ieshauwha Perry of Montgomery, IL, and Oscar Parham, Jr. of Senatobia, MS; grandchildren, Jeremiah Perry, Quavia Smith, Damarion Parham, Bradley Bledsoe, Lavontae Parham, Jerome Glover, Jr., Javian Sandoval, Miracle Glover, Xermarius Glover, and Jekobe Glover; 96 year old mother, Emma Grace Perry of Oxford, MS; sisters, E.V. Booker, Betty J. (Andrew) Burt of Aurora, IL, Frances Market of Bellwood, IL, Jeanette Roland of Coffeeville, MS, and Melody Visor of Oxford, MS; brothers, Tommie L. and Calvin Perry both of Aurora, IL; mother-in-law, Ethel Lockhart; sister-in-law, Corrine Houston; nephew, Ronald Burt; aunt, Georgia Bryant; uncle, Sherman Patton, Jr.; great aunt, Easter King; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Jerry was preceded in death by his father and two brothers, Larry and Willie Lewis.
