Jessie James Williams, son of the late Frank and Eva Mae Williams, was born September 2, 1945. He accepted Christ as his Savior and joined Mt. Zion MB Church in Batesville, Mississippi. Jessie developed work ethics at a very young age by working in the fields. He was employed with Springs Industries where he worked as a mechanic for over 20 years.
Jessie was known for his moves on the dance floor and everyone knew him as "Chief." He was united in matrimony to Dorothy Williams for 53 years, and this union was blessed with five sons and three daughters. On Friday, January 17th, 2025, "Chief' received his wings and flew away to be at rest.
He leaves to cherish his memory: his loving wife: Dorothy Williams of Sardis MS; his five sons: Mal (Maudie) Williams of Atlanta GA, Jessie James (Linda-Sue) Williams of Sardis MS, Terry (Sharon) Williams of Sardis MS, Stevie Williams of Sardis MS, and Geraldman Williams of Sardis MS; three daughters: Dorothy (Aaron) McEwen of Chicago IL, Carol (Miker) Hentz of Sardis MS, and Christina Williams (Fantastic) of Sardis MS; He also leaves a sister: Sarah (Richard) Bishop of Sardis MS; two brothers: Robert (Jean) Williams of Batesville MS and N. V. (Jean) Williams of Memphis TN; 20 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Jessie ("Chief") was preceded in death by three brothers: James Williams, Jimmy Williams and W.J. Williams; three sisters: Annie Willingham, Thelma Harvey and Edna Mae Hunter; and two grandchildren: Christian Williams and Laterick Dunlap and several aunts and uncles.
Please keep the Williams family in your prayers.
