Joseph D. Egerson was born March 21, 1950, to the late Ester Townsend and JD Egerson in Lafayette County, Mississippi. He confessed a hope in Christ at North Hopewell MB Church and became a member.
"Ronnie Joe," as he was affectionately known to his family and friends, was a graduate of Lafayette High School. in Oxford, Mississippi. He was a mechanic and loved working on cars. He also had a position as a car salesman. Although Ronnie Joe didn't play sports, he was an avid New Orleans Saints Football fan.
Ronnie Joe left Taylor, Mississippi and to a journey to the windy city of Chicago for awhile but after careful consideration, he returned to Mississippi where he lived in Jackson and was cared for by his loving sister Mittie Egerson.
On Sunday, July 30, 2023, at University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson, Mississippi, Joseph D. Egerson, lovingly known as "Ronnie Joe," went home to be with the Lord.
He leaves to cherish his memories, four sisters: Mittie Egerson of Jackson MS and JoEster (Rayford) Brassell of Taylor MS, Janice Fay Egerson, and Cindy D. Egerson both of Jackson MS; two step sisters: Debra Ann Brown and Frances J. Brown; and a step-brother: Lee Anthony Brown; He also leaves a special goddaughter: Vera Wilson; a special niece: a longtime friend: Kenneth Bogan and a host of nieces, nephews, cousin, other relatives and friends.
"Ronnie Joe" is preceded in death by his mother, Ester Townsend, his father, JD Egerson and two sisters: Jerrie Mae Egerson-Johnson and Josephine Egerson-Brown.
