Judge Logan Obituary

JUDGE LEE LOGAN was the first son and second child born to the late Jessie and Pearlie Thompson Logan on April 1, 1937, in Abbeville, Miss. His life of Christian service began at a very early age at the Providence United Methodist Church in Abbeville where he held continuous membership. He made a peaceful transition on Friday, April 14, 2023, at the home of his daughter, Carolyn Reed, in Mound Bayou, Miss.

JUDGE received his education in the public schools of Abbeville and graduated from Abbeville High School in 1958. His quiet, mild manners endeared him to others at his work, in his church and in the community. He served his church as a trustee, class leader and in numerous other capacities. JUDGE'S impeccable work ethic earned him the title of supervisor at his job on the campus of the University of Mississippi.

On January 24, 1959, JUDGE and the former Doris Jean Campbell were united in holy matrimony, a bond that endured 58 years, broken only by Doris' transition on August 4, 2017. They were the proud parents of four children: Carolyn Annette, Bobby Glenn, Julius Byron and Deneise Rochelle. Although JUDGE led a peaceful, quiet life, he was a source of strength for all who were blessed to come within his realm. When his father passed away at an early age, he became the "man of the house" and helped his mother in the raising of his younger siblings. When his sister, "Baby," transpired, JUDGE AND DORIS stepped in and served as surrogate parents for her son, Demond ("Squeaky").

JUDGE is now resting in sweet, Heavenly peace with his wife, Doris Jean; parents, Jessie and Pearlie Thompson Logan; sisters, Fannie Mae Shields, Doyce Logan, Deloris Muldrew and son-in-law, Melvin Joe Reed.

JUDGE leaves to rejoice at his having passed this way: his devoted daughter, Carolyn Reed of Mound Bayou, MS, who became his caretaker in 2019, and Deneise Moore, Memphis, TN; two sons, Bobby Glenn Logan (Daphne), Memphis, TN, Julius Byron Logan (Tracy), Oklahoma City, OK; and adopted son, Demond Logan, Abbeville, MS; adopted daughter, Brenda Luckett; one sister, Joyce Dudley (Fred), Flint, MI; three brothers, Wade Logan (Wanda) and Robert Logan, Flint, MI, and Sam T. Logan (Marolyn) Abbeville, MS; granddaughters, Nakisha Vaxter, Candance Bibbs, Christi Scott, Alexandria Logan, Andrea Logan, KhyLaisa Logan, and Edna Luckett; grandsons, Julius Logan and Marquinton Moore; great grandchildren, Clinton Warren, III, Konner Vaxter, Kingston Calloway, Kelvin McMullen, Jr., Judah Gipson, MaeKenzie Harris; goddaughter, Jakira Griffin; granddog, Mercedes Reed; aunt, Ruby Logan; brothers-in-law, L. C. Campbell (Jeannie), Chicago, IL, Rogers Morris, Mound Bayou, MS; sister-in-law, DeVoyce C. Morris, Mound Bayou, MS; caregiver extraordinaire, Shirley Montgomery, Cleveland, MS, and the Montgomery family; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, church family members and friends.

Friends and family have shared their relationship to show their support.
