LEROY "HONEY BOY" CARROTHERS

Leroy Carrothers, Jr., was born May 1, 1956, to Martha Carrothers and the late Roy Lee Carrothers in Taylor MS. Leroy accepted Christ as a child and became a member of Brown Chapel Church. 

Leroy, being the oldest child, grew up having to help support his family. This caused him to drop out of school early, but it taught him the experience and respectfulness of being a responsible man. Leroy was employed as a construction worker with Pearson Construction Company. He loved his job and was a good friend to his employer, William Pearson. Leroy also had a love for cars, fishing, hunting, yardwork and friends. But he received great joy from his grandchildren, especially Asher.

Leroy was united in matrimony to Annie Mathis and to this union they shared blended families. On Saturday, July 25, 2020 at Baptist Memorial Hospital/NM, Leroy went home to be with the Lord. He will be loving missed by his wife: Annie Carrothers of Abbeville MS; his daughters: Erin Moody(Donald) of Taylor MS and Ashley Wells (Joey) of Abbeville MS; Step children: James Mathis of Abbeville MS, Adrian B. (Nicole) Wilkins of Fort Leonard Wood MO, Jacqueline Mathis of New Albany MS, and Alicia McIntosh of Horn Lake MS; Brothers: Marvin Carrothers and Bobby Lee Carrothers, both of Oxford MS and sisters: Martha Ann Carrothers and Martha Jean Driver both of Oxford MS. He also leaves 21 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.
