LaSonda Lyn Burgess was born February 26, 1969 in Racine, WI to Annie Ruth McGee.
LaSonda professed her hope in Christ at an early age. She united with Church of God in Christ in Little River, South Carolina. She later moved her membership to House of Prayer Church of God in Christ in Water Valley, MS where she remained a member until her death.
LaSonda began her educational journey in Racine and while just a young child, her mother moved her family to California. There, she attended elementary school. Later, the family moved to Oxford, MS and LaSonda attended Lafayette county schools. While in high school, she was a member of the Horticulture Club.
Following her dream, LaSonda enrolled in Jeffrey Lyles Academy, earning her degree in cosmetology. She successfully passed the state’s examination and received her license.
LaSonda was a fun, loving person, and full of life. She always found joy in listening to music, dancing, jewelry and shoe shopping, cuddling with her fur babies, and spending time with family and friends.
On October 30, 2020 at Baptist Memorial Hospital – North Mississippi, LaSonda peacefully transitioned from her earthly life to eternal life. To cherish her memories, she leaves, her son, Courtney Bass of Salt Lake City, UT, one grandson, Trenton Bass; her mother, Annie Ruth McGee of Taylor, MS; one sister, Chita Romaro McGee of Georgia; one nephew, Kaih Burns of California, her friends and family in Conway and Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, a host of aunts, uncles, and many, many cousins whom she loved very much.
