A native of Oxford, Mississippi, Lavorace Yvonne Frierson was born on October 12, 1966, to the late Isaiah "Ike" Mathis and Bennie Jean Frierson and was the eldest of their two children. She received her education in the Oxford School District and graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration from the University of Mississippi.
"Bunny," as she was affectionately known, confessed at an early age, accepted Christ at Second M.B. Church and served faithfully as a choir member and as Assistant Youth Director until her health no longer allowed her. Lavorace was a kind and gentle soul; who asked little of others, yet selflessly shared herself through her volunteer work, cooking, and youth involvement.
She had one daughter, Miss Moriah Nicole Price, who was her entire world and she loved dearly.
On Monday, August 5, 2024, with her beautiful daughter by her side, Lavorace departed this life to receive her wings.
She will be forever loved and her memories will be cherished and her legacy will be carried on by her daughter: Moriah Price; her brothers: Kenyon (Avis) Frierson of Oxford, Mississippi, Randy Liggins of Atlanta, GA; her sister: Rita Liggins; her aunts: Stella Buford, Vickie Adams and Wilma Frierson all of Oxford, MS; a nephew: Imani Corbitt; a niece: Ken'Nia D. Frierson both of Oxford, Mississippi; cousins: Andi (Terance, Selah, and Ezran) Booker, Jacelyn L. Frierson and Jeremy Orange all of Atlanta, GA, and Benjamin Adams of Oxford MS. She also leaves a host of other relatives and friends.
Lavorace is preceded in death by her parents: Bennie Jean Frierson and Ike Mathis; her maternal grandparents: Bennie and Lavora Frierson and her paternal grandparents: Willard and Lula Mathis. Also, her uncles: George Ralph "Ricky" Frierson, Andrew "Tank" Frierson, Sherman Buford, and John Adams.
Please keep the Frierson family in prayer
