Larry K. Pearson, Sr., son of the late Earnestine Williams and Charles W. Leland, was born on December 31, 1960, in Oxford, MS. Early in life he acknowledged the need for salvation and accepted Christ as his savior and worshipped at East St. Peter M.B. Church in Abbeville, MS.
For many years Larry worked at Borg Warner, formerly Holly Automotive, in Water Valley, MS, where he gained friends that became family. Larry received his formal education in the Oxford School District and completed high school with the Oxford High Class of 1978.
Larry united in holy matrimony to Charlotte Smith on April 23, 1992. During his life, he passionately spent time with his mother, Earnestine and his wife, Charlotte, making memories that will forever be cherished. Fulfilling the role of fatherhood, Larry poured into his three sons; Anthony, Tyrone and Larry, Jr., a wealth of knowledge and structure to become an example of what a man is supposed to be.
Past times: Larry was a member of the Knight Ridesr Motorcycle Club, where he earned the infamous name “Cujo.” In his down time, he spent countless hours with a pencil and canvas in hand, drawing images, portraits and landscape, hoping to one day become the next “PICASSO.”
On Friday, May 3, 2025, at Baptist Hospital/NM, in Oxford, MS, Larry traded mortality for immortality. He quietly made his transitioned with his treasured wife by his side. Loved ones that paved the way, and welcome him into glory, are his parents: Earnestine Pearson and Charles Leland; maternal grandparents: Jerome and Luetta Pearson: paternal grandparent: Earlean Willingham; Baby Pearson, and a brother Norris: Ray Leland.
Left to embrace the promises of God, is his wife: Charlotte; sons: Anthony (Julia) Pearson of Duluth, GA, Tyrone Pearson of Hickory Flat, MS, and Larry Pearson, Jr. of Oxford, MS; Brothers: James Earl Williams of Oxford, MS, Rudley Leland of Merryville, IN, Charles Leland of Batesville, MS, and Curtis (Sherry) Leland of Coweta, OK; sisters: Arlean Leland, Esq. of Washington D.C., Debra Johnson of Oxford, MS, Tawanna (Austin) Ferguson of Memphis, TN, Patara (Hughye) McDaniel of Batesville, MS and Rhonda Leland of Batesville, MS; Seven grandchildren: Levon, Dontay, Jayden, Heaven, Shiah, Haleigh Grace and Hayden; and a vast amount of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
