Lenzo Dennis was born July 4, 1940 to the late Gert Dennis Sr., and Magnolia Vaughn Dennis in Lafayette County, MS. He accepted Christ at an early age and joined Smith Chapel C.M.E. Church where he remained until his death.
Lenzo retired from the University of Mississippi were he was a Senior Utility Worker for 42 years. He loved hunting, fishing, playing card and watching Gunsmoke. He also loved spending time with his family and friends.
On December 8, 1962 he was united in holy matrimony to the late Eva Mae (Sykes) Dennis, to this union 5 children were born.
Lenzo departed this life on Tuesday, January 2, 2024 at his home surround by his loving family. He leaves to cherish his loving memories, his children: Mabeline Crockette, Vester (James) Buford, Truly Dennis and Richard L. (Nekeshu) Dennis all of Abbeville, MS; and Lonzo E. Dennis, Oxford, MS; 14 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren; his sister: Maggie Ivy, his in-laws: Zannie Mayes, James Sykes, and Mary Reed all of Abbeville, MS; and Sandra Dennis of Oxford, MS; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Lenzo was preceded in death three brothers: Gert Dennis, Jr., Willie E. Dennis, and Wade L. Dennis; two sisters, Alberta Dennis Mayes and Louise Dennis Malone; in-laws: Bernice Dennis, Russell Ivy and Fred Reed, Jr.
