Leon White was born April 11, 1957 in Sardis, MS. He was the son of the late Connell M. White, Sr. and Thelma Avant White. He professed a hope in Christ at an early age at Harrisonville M.B. Church. Leon later re-dedicated his life and became a Jr. Deacon, Mass Choir Member, Mission Worker, and Brotherhood Male Choir Member. He was dedicated until his death. He had a love for God, his family, and his church family.
Leon attended Lafayette County Schools where he remained friends with many of his classmates and built strong relationships with his former teachers. Leon worked for many years with Oxford School District driving buses for the Transportation Department and working as a Maintenance Worker until his health declined. He was respected by many of the staff and students. He will always be remembered as the bus driver who took care of his students and treated them as his own. After Leon left Oxford School District, he did small jobs when his health permitted him to do so.
He was united in holy matrimony to Vicky Price and to this union, three children were born. He enjoyed watching wrestling, working on antique cars, helping the elderly, watching Street Outlaw Racing, and just lending a helping hand to anyone in need. He will be missed by his family, friends, and all who loved him.
On Sunday, December 20, 2020 at Baptist Memorial Hospital-North MS, a dedicated servant's heart slowly stopped and ascended back to the Lord.
Leon was preceded in death by his son, Derrick A. White, brothers John W. White, James Y. White, Sr., Charles E. White, who was stillborn.
He leaves to cherish his memories his wife, Vicky White of Oxford, MS, four sons; Dariet Price (Kimberly), Le'Aundre White, Jamarious White, and Dimitri Mack all of Oxford, MS, one daughter: Niki Frierson of Taylor, MS, two brothers: CM White Jr., of Oxford, MS and Calvin White (Sandra) of Batesville, MS, eight sisters: Reathy Butler, Ethel W.
