Leroy Ivy Obituary

Leroy "Bill" Ivy was born on September 28, 1955, in Oxford, Mississippi to the late Arthur Allen Ivy and Linnie Mae Ivy.

Bill confessed his belief in Christ at an early age but rededicated his life back to Christ and became a faithful member of Unity Fellowship Baptist Church in Jackson, Mississippi under the covering of Pastor Orlando Franklin.

Bill attended central high school in Oxford, Mississippi and graduated from Oxford High School in 1973. He worked for Southwest Airlines and did several other odd jobs throughout life. His last employment was with Cowherd landscaping Company in Jackson, Mississippi where he worked as a landscaper. Bill was a fun person, he loved music, talking, driving, traveling, dancing, and just living life to the fullest.

On September 28, 2019, bill was united in matrimony to Diane Killingsworth. Though their union of matrimony was not long, it was what God had it to be, and they enjoyed the time they had.

On Easter Sunday morning, April 12, 2020, Bill was called home to glory while at Baptist Medical Center Jackson, Mississippi. And now, he has been given eternal rest.

To cherish his memories, he leaves his loving wife: Diane Ivy of Jackson MS; two daughters; Tameka Harris of Horn Lake, MS and Chaaka Baker; two sons: Damien Ivy of Cincinnati OH and Johnathan Ivy of Oxford MS; three sisters; Linda Willingham; Knoxville TN, Renee Ivy, Jackson MS and Neives Mathis of Oxford, MS; two brothers: Jerry (Javaline) Adams of Memphis TN and John Adams of Stone Mountain,GA; 13 grandchildren (with ShaQuita having a special hold on him);  three great grandchildren; his step children: Detra, Kataria, and Paul Webb, Gerod Daniels and Anthonette Thompson; he also leaves his loving-in-laws: James (Ethel) Killingsworth, Landy (Daphnie) Killingsworth, Robert (Debbie) Killingsworth, Gloria Killingsworth, and Joe Davis, Ruth (Leroy) Dixon and William Killingsworth; and a host of nieces (with a special place for Victoria), nephews, cousins and friends to cherish his memories.

Bill is preceded in death by his parents: Arthur Allen Ivy and Linnie Mae Ivy, and two sisters: Janet M. (Dang) Cook and Arness (Punkin) Ivy.
