Lillie Mae Orange, was born July 1, 1938 in Lafayette County, Mississippi to the late Roy and Ruby Cook. She accepted Christ at an early age and became a member of Cypress Grove M.B. Church.
Lillie attended school at Cypress Grove Community School and graduated from Oxford Training School, She was united in matrimony to Robert Orange and to this union seven children were born. Two children preceded her in death.
Lillie was a great cook and entrepreneur of the community's local hamburger hut and was known for great cooking. She was a wonderful wife, marvelous mother, grandest grandmother, sensational sister, awesome aunt, and fantastic friend. A woman who touch the lives of many people, not only those within the community, but all around.
After a long battle with Alzheimer's disease the Lord decided Lillie needed rest. So he took her home to restore her body and make her whole again. On Friday, May 1, 2020, surrounded with the love of her family, she went home to be with the Lord where she is now sitting at His table, feasting on milk and honey.
Lillie is lovingly remembered by her children: Velma Buford of Oxford MS; William (Debra) Orange of Modesto CA, Frank (Jacqueline) Orange of San Jose CA, Leonard Orange of Oxford MS and Timothy Orange of Atlanta GA; her sister: Rosie (Robert) Blackmon of Abbeville MS; six grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; 3 brothers-in-law; 6 sisters-in-law; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Lillie was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Orange; her parents: Roy and Ruby Cook; two children; one grandchild; four brothers; and four sisters.
