Lillie Pearson Obituary

For nearly 90 years, Lillie M. Pearson blessed the face of the earth with unique and enduring qualities of love and dedication. Lillie, the sixth child of Elige and Jettie Oliver Jones, was born on February 28, 1931 in Lafayette County, MS.

As a member of the Philadelphia community, she was educated at the Philadelphia community school. As a young girl, the church was an integral part of her life. She professed her faith in Christ at an early age and was a member of Philadelphia M. B. Church. She maintained her membership there until she united with New Hope M. B. Church in the Pea Ridge community, where she faithfully served as a loyal member until her final rest. She was committed to the Usher Ministry serving with dedication for over 50 years at New Hope M. B. Church, as well as serving in multiple capacities with the TOMB District Association and formally training and serving as delegate with the National Baptist Convention USA, Inc.

Mrs. Lillie was devout in her faith. She loved her family, her friends and her flowers. Her career in domestication highlighted her loving and nurturing ways as she became a mother to so many she came in contact with. As God would have it, she served as the eldest Mother on the Mother's Board of New Hope M. B. Church for many years. Her commitment to ministry also spanned to the Masonic family, where she was a faithful member of the Heroines of Jericho Court 106.

Mrs. Lillie was united in matrimony to Milton Pearson, who preceded her in death. On Saturday, January 30, 2021 Mrs. Lillie yielded her spirit for her final rest. The world has truly lost a great soldier, but God has called home His humble servant.

Cherishing her for a lifetime are her children Mary Thomas (Don), Jerry Pearson (May), Jesse Pearson (Juanita), Linda Ivy, Angelina Fox, one sibling, Archie Jones. Treasuring her everlasting love are her grandchildren, Tracy Starks, Jerall G. Pearson, Marcus Pearson, La'Shawnda Woodson, Markee Archie, Audric Fox, Derrick Willingham, Antonio Fox, Tiara Willingham, Jessica Woods, Raven Booker, Tevin Buford, Jerica Pearson, and Quinterrio Bailey. Her legacy includes 23 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren. Mrs. Lillie also leaves a cousin and niece cherished as sisters, Alice Wright and Louise Clark, and a nephew she loved as her son, Eddie Frank Jones. Loving her always are a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, church members and extended family.

Mrs. Lillie was also preceded in death by her parents, Elige and Jettie and seven siblings, Joe, Frank, Bessie, James, Bob, Sam and John.

Friends and family have shared their relationship to show their support.
