Louvertis Brown, daughter of the late Raymond and Trudie Slaughter, was born in Lafayette County, Mississippi on June 17, 1950. She received her formal education in at Central High School in the Oxford School District.
Louvertis was a very active member of Joint Heirs with Christ Apostolic Church where she served faithfully until her health failed. For many years, she worked in the house keeping department at Golden Years Nursing Home.
Louvertis was married to Richard Lynn Toles and to this union four children were born. She later united in holy matrimony to Reverand Dale ("R.D.") Brown and they shared 22 wonderful, loving years together. "R.D." said, "We married December 20. 1997 at 18 minutes after 1 (1:18 p.m.), in Taylor, Mississippi. Now that's love. She loved cooking, fishing, singing, sewing and churching.
On Sunday, February 16th, 2020, Louvertis went home to be with the Lord. She is lovingly remembered by her devoted husband: Reverand Dale ("R.D.") Brown of Oxford MS; her children: Richard Allen Toles, Daniel Toles, Connie Benzette Toles, and Brinae Sherelle Toles, all of Oxford MS; eight grandchildren; two grea-great grandchildren; five sisters: Jackie Greer, Corrine Slaughter, Merlene Shepherd, and Patsy Cooper. all of Oxford MS and Dora Lee Slaughter of TX; She also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends and church family.
