Margaret Kaye Leland, 58, was born November 8, 1965 in Batesville, Mississippi to James and Margaret Leland. She was the youngest of the ten children born to this union. She professed her love and belief in Christ at an early age at Coleman Chapel A.M.E. Zion Church.
She was fondly known as “Kaye Kaye” to many and always greeted everyone with a special hug and smile. During family functions, when the music started Kaye could always be found on the dance floor, dancing and doing her thang. She loved to sing in the church choir and enjoyed playing cards. She graduated from high school in 1983 with her special education certificate.
Kaye was preceded in death by her father, James Leland Sr. Siblings: James Leland Jr., Hattie Mae Leland-Johnson, Edward Leland, Carrie Leland, Larence Leland and Willie Leland.
Kaye leaves to cherish her memories, her loving and devoted mother Margaret Leland of Batesville, MS, two brothers Johnny and Fred Leland of Batesville, MS, one sister, Mary A. Leland of Batesville, MS, sister-in-law, Levoria Leland of Mobile, AL, brother-in-law, Jesse Johnson of Chicago, IL, along with a host of dear nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
