Mario Tywan Martin

Mario Tywan Martin was born August 4,1976 in Bruce MS. He was the oldest of four children born to the union of Barney Senior and Carrie Martin. He was baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ at an early age at The Way, Truth, and Life Apostolic Faith Church. He received his education at the Lafayette school district and later received his GED. He began his employment with Martin Painting Service with his father, Barney Martin Sr. Later, he moved to Texas and became a self-employed contractor. He was passionate about music, fishing, hunting, and caring for animals. Most of all, he loved his family.

Even though his family loved him very much, God loved him more. On Tuesday March 26, 2024, he was called home after a car crash. He will be missed deeply by his family and all that loved him.

He leaves a legacy of memories with the love of his life: Alicia Blake Martin: his son: Matthew Tyler Martin: his daughter: Lauren Alyssa Martin, and bonus grandchildren: Ariana Lilianne Blake and Shelby Lynn Carroll of Longview, Tx; his parents: Barney and Carrie Martin of Oxford, MS; his brother: Barney Jr. (Jessica) Martin of Killeen, TX; his sisters: Kelisa (Christopher) Brown and Carrie (Marcus) Daniels of Oxford, MS; Bonus siblings: Candice and Toya Knighton of Austin, TX; maternal grandfather: Clifton (Pearlie) Hall of Broadview, IL; his nieces: Tamara Octavia Divine Mayes and Autumn Daniels of Oxford, MS; his nephews: Kylen Malik Martin, Levi Benjamin Brown, Christian Brown all of Oxford MS, Isiah Martin of Killeen, TX, Josiah Daniels and Ethan Daniels of Oxford, MS; his uncles: Thomas (Renee) Martin of Taylor, MS, William Boyd Martin of Clarksdale, MS, James (Carrie) Cruthirds of Vicksburg, MS , Washington (Bertha) Cruthirds of Vicksburg, MS, Commodore Martin and Willie Martin Jr of Taylor, MS; Neil Cruthirds of Chicago, IL, Dewayne Hall and Antoine Hall of Broadview, IL; his aunts: Willie Mae (George) Jones of Oxford, MS, Sealeaner (Robert) Harmon of Oxford, MS, Rose (Waymond) Stinson of Racine, WI, Wanester Cruthirds of Bruce, MS and Latrice Hall of Broadview, IL, and a host of great aunts, uncles, close cousins, and friends.

He is preceded in death by his maternal grandmother: Dorothy Cruthirds of Bruce, MS: his paternal grandparents: Willie (Callie Mae) Martin of Taylor, MS; his aunts: Abby Orange and Effie Martin of Oxford, MS; his uncles: Kenneth Hall and Arrid Hall of Chicago, IL; his special great great great uncle and aunt: George and Flora Alexander.
