Mary Reynolds Reed, daughter of the late Frank and Hattie Mae Harris Reynolds, was born January 25, 1944 in Lafayette County, Mississippi. Mary, affectionately known as "May," professed a hope in Christ and joined East St. Peter M.B. Church in Abbeville, Mississippi where she enjoyed singing in the choir, and where she remained a faithful member until her health prevented her from physically attending.
"May" received her early education at Gordon School in Abbeville, Mississippi. She was united in matrimony to her loving husband, Fred Reed on March 9, 1962, and to this union, they were blessed with six children; two of whom preceded her in death.
"May" was employed with Emerson Electric Company until her retirement. She enjoyed watching TV, Word Search puzzles, talking on the phone, and being around her family and friends. Mary had a beautiful spirit a gentle smile and a heart full of love. So much love that the Lord called her home on what we know as Valentine's Day," a day of love. She will be forever missed but always in our hearts.
On Friday, February 14, 2025, Mary went home to be with Jesus. She is lovingly remembered by her children: Freddie Reed and Frankie Reed, Gloria (Vernon) Wilson and Stephanie Reed all of Abbeville, Mississippi; her loving sister: Josie Carothers of Abbeville, Mississippi; nine grandchildren; a host of great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She also maintained a close bond bond with Charlotte Webb-Reed.
Mary "May" Reynolds Reed has now been reunited with her parents; Frank and Hattie Mae Reynolds; her husband: Fred Reed; her children: Terry and Shirley Reed; seven brothers: Jank, Raymond, George, Joseph, Andrew, Dave, and Joe; and two sisters; Earnestine and Classie.
Please keep the Reed/Reynold family in your prayers.
