Mother Mattie Mae Wortham-Norphlet was born May 20, 1945, to Horace and Hattie Mae Berry Wortham. She confessed a hope in Christ at an early age and remained faithful that she may receive her crown of life.
Ma Mattie, Aunt Mattie, as she was affectionately know by all who knew her, was a pillar of love, joy, encouragement and a shoulder to cry on. She was a woman of God who loved to feed anyone who came along. Ma Mattie would feed anyone a hot meal, give warm hugs with joy and laughter, along with a touch of wisdom. She would also befriend anyone who came along. She loved gardening, canning, fishing, sewing, traveling, and raising chickens and ducks. Ma Mattie was well known in the community for all these wonderful qualities.
Ma Mattie left this earthly home on Monday, July 29, 2024 to be with her heavenly father whom she sang many songs about. She encouraged other to get to know him. Mattie "Granny" LOVED THE LORD with all her heart.
