Mr. Michael Burt, son of the Malcolm and Mary Porter Burt, was born in Oxford, Mississippi on November 5, 1952. Michael, affectionately called "Mane," grew up in Oxford and graduated from Central High School in 1970. He accepted Christ at an early age at New Hope MB Church.
Michael enjoyed playing sports and he loved fishing. He grew up in a loving home with six siblings, five brothers and one sister. He enjoyed being around his family and he was blessed with a son, Antonio who added to Michael's love for family and the family bond.
Michael formerly worked for the University of Mississippi where he was employed as a custodian. We believe that when life hands you lemons, you learn to make lemonade and God will add the sweetener. Michael's life was made much sweeter on Saturday, June 15, 2024, after a brief stay in Baptist Memorial Hospital, when the Lord saw fit to relieve him from the bitter pains and sour suffering of this world.
He leaves to cherish is loving memories, his son, Antonio R. Morgan of Oxford, Mississippi; six grandchildren; three great grandchildren; four brothers: Danny Burt (Martha Jackson, fiance`) of Memphis, Tennessee, Jerry Burt and Eric Burt of Oxford, Mississippi and Cornelius Burt of Winter Garden, Florida; he also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends who loved him dearly,
Michael is preceded in death by his parents: Malcolm and Mary Porter Burt; his sister: Betty Jo Burt Campbell and his brother: Gregory Burt.
Please keep the Burt family lifted in prayer.
