Mineva Egerson Rowsey was born September 1, 1933, in Lafayette County to the late Posey Egerson and Nettie Egerson.
She joined Mount Hope Missionary Baptist Church at the age of 14 and was a faithful member until her health failed.
On June 9, 1962, she united in holy matrimony to Lewis Rowsey and to this union three children were born.
“Neva,” as she was affectionately called, was employed with the University of Mississippi (Ole Miss) for three years. She then worked as a bus monitor for ICS for 22 years.
Cooking, family time, and quilting were some of her favorite past times. She was also an avid gardener.
She leaves to cherish her memories one son, Hozelda (Mary) Rowsey of Batesville, MS and two daughters, Mary A. Rowsey and Faye Rogers both of Tupelo, MS; two grandchildren, Deunta (Mya) Rowsey and Johnathan K. Rogers; two great-grandchildren, Raelynn Rowsey and Haden Rowsey; sister-in-law, Mary Egerson of St. Louis, MO; nephew, Richard (Delois) McEwen of Oxford, MS and niece Veronica Egerson of St. Louis, MO, a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Mineva was preceded in death by one daughter, Maggie Lewis; sister, Nella Mae McEwen and brother, Posey Egerson.
