Nathaniel Hope Obituary

Nathaniel Hope, was the fifth of eight children born to the late Johnnie Edward and Jessie Lee Howard-Hope.

Nathaniel accepted Christ at an early and became a member of West St. Peter United Methodist Church in Oxford MS.

He received his formal education in the Oxford School District, receiving his diploma from Oxford Training School in 1963. And after relocating, he participated in the Chicago Chapter of the Oxford Training School Alumni.

As a young adult, Nathaniel decided to relocate. So he moved to Chicago, IL where he spent most of his adult life. While there, he met and married, Sarah Ann Jackson in November of 1967. To this union, three beautiful daughters were born. Lisa, Stephanie and Natalie.  In later years, Nathaniel met Bobbie Ann Watson and they became parents to his only son, Andre, who was his heart.

Nathaniel was employed with JET in Chicago IL as a service technician and he proved to be a loyal and hard worker.  He retired after 50 years of service.

Nathaniel loved painting and drawing. And you could see his artistic talent in his watercolor paintings and chalk drawings.

On Friday, August 14, 2020, after a struggle with a crippling disease called Dementia, the Lord saw fit to give him peace and rest.

Nathaniel leaves to cherish his memory, his children: Lisa (Rondell) Washington, Stephanie Hope, Natalie (Diallo) Duniver and Andre Parnell Hope; his six grandchildren: Caleb, Jacob, Hope, Hannah, Andrew, and Mayra. He also leaves his siblings: Mary Johnson, Willie (Ann) Hope, Daniel Hope, and Al Hope, Sr.; he also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Friends and family have shared their relationship to show their support.
