Otha Lee Buford, the son of the late Adam and Mary (Austin) Buford, was born February 2, 1932 in Lafayette County, MS.
Otha Lee accepted Christ at an early age and joined Smith Chapel C.M.E. Church. He later joined Springfield M.B. Church and remained a member until his death.
In 1955, Otha Lee married Miss Wadie Mae Logan and to this union, four children were born. Later, after her death, he married Miss Ossie Carter.
On January 18, 2021, Otha passed away at Baptist Nursing Home in Calhoun City, MS. His memories will be cherished by his children, Teresa (Dennis) Mathis, Robert Buford, Johnnie (Linda) Buford, James (Vester) Buford all of Abbeville, MS; two sisters, Willie Mae Mathis of Abbeville, MS and Rosie Pearl (Eddie) Terrell of Davenport, IA; four sisters-in-law, Grace Carter, Mattie Young, Paulette Logan, and Elizabeth Miller; four brothers-in-law, C.W. Young, Elbert Logan, Joe Willie Logan, and Sherman Miller; one grandson and nephew he helped raise, Edwin (Monty) Buford and Randolph (Mae Catherine) Buford, 11 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, and host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
His wife, two brothers, William and Percy Buford, and one sister, Ula Buford, preceded him in death.
