Patricia Ann (Mitchell) Brown

Patricia Ann Mitchell Brown was born to the Hattie Mae Mitchell and John Gordon on September 29, 1956 in Lafayette County, Mississippi. She accepted Christ at an early age and joined New Hope M.B. Hope Church under the leadership of the late Pastor W. T. Houston. "Tricia Ann" as she was affectionately known was an active member and served on the usher board until her health failed.

'Tricia Ann" attended school in the Oxford School District. She was very outspoken, and let her tell it, never wrong. She also knew how to have a good time and was the life of the party, with her contagious laugh. Throughout her life, she had numerous jobs, but for over 40 years, being a cook and care taker was her passion. She enjoyed cooking, listening to music, and spending time with her family and friends. You could always find a large meal prepared for everyone on Sundays, because she believed that food brought family and friends together.

On Monday, December 11, 2023, the Lord saw fit to bring his child home to be with Him. She leaves to cherish her memories: her step father: James Houston, Sr. of Oxford MS; three children: Delicia (Michael) Booker, and Jamie Carter both of Oxford MS, and Brandon (Alexis) Booker of Louisville KY; two bonus children: Lisa (Detric) Doolittle and Robert (Jamilia) Ivy, both of Oxford MS; four grandchildren: LaQuetta Booker and Asiah James Leija, both of Oxford MS, Quinn-Jarvis (Roshunda) Booker of Forth Worth TX, and Bri'elle Booker of Louisville KY; two great grand children: Kielon Dukes and Kyrie Booker both of Oxford MS; eight sisters: Alice Houston, Tabitha Houston, Rachel Houston, Valerie (Jerry) Kirkwood, Pamela Gordon, Tonjia Thompson, Twanna (Gery) Phillips, and Deloris (Steve) Holmes, all of Oxford MS; four brothers: Kenneth (Vernita) Houston of Bartlett TN, Richard Houston of Riverdale GA, Chester (Yolanda) Houston of Jackson MS and James Houston, Jr. of Forth Walton Beach FL; five aunts, three uncles, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. 

Patricia Ann Brown was preceded in death by her mother and her father; a son, two brothers and a sister.
