Preston Emmanuel King was born on March 29, 1958 to the late Doris Jean Mitchell in Oxford, MS.
He professed a hope in Christ at an early age at Harrisonville Missionary Baptist Church.
After moving to South Bend, IN at an early age, and then to Chicago, IL, Preston graduated from Calumet High School in Chicago. Afterwards, he became an auto mechanic by trade. He was kind and generous and had a smile that could light up the world. While he had many hobbies, his favorite was fishing.
On Sunday, June 26, 2022, Preston departed this life at the Center for Hospice Care in Mishawaka, IN.
Preston Emmanuel King leaves to cherish his memories, his stepfather, Leland Mitchell of Oxford, MS; three children: Preston Emmanuel King, Jr. (Sherry Ann) of Chicago, IL, Sophia Renee King of Lansing, IL, and Rose Marie King of Hazel Crest, IL; four sisters: Christi Noël Bland of Oxford, MS, Stephanie (Edmund) Thompson of Sardis, MS, Lendell Nelson of Seattle, WA, and Mia (Kevin) McKinney of Olive Branch, MS; three brothers: Ronnie (Alesia) King of South Bend, IN, Ronny (Josie) Joiner of Chicago, IL, and David Wayne Joiner of Oxford, MS; eight grandchildren: Talasia Word, Tinirah King, Preston King, III, Davion King, Sherriauna Holloway, Patrice King, MaKayla King, and Royalty King; a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Preston was preceded in death by one sister, Wynell Jackson; two brothers, Corey Mitchell and William Michael Joiner; and his father, William Davis Joiner.
