Roscoe Lee "Pean" Houston, son of the late Robert "Ham" and Frankie Bell (Manning) Houston was born October 3, 1953, in Lafayette County, Mississippi. He accepted Christ at an early age and joined New Hope Missionary Baptist under the leadership of the late Rev. W.T. Houston.
He received his education from Oxford High School where he graduated from the class of 1974. "Pean" worked for the Oxford CO-OP, Miller Brand Brewing Company and Clarke Beverage Group where he retired after 16 years. In his spare time, he enjoyed spending time with his family and on Sundays he would sit back and watch his favorite football team, The Dallas Cowboys. He was a loving and humble person and will be missed by his family and friends.
On Tuesday, June 17, 2025, at Baptist Memorial Hospital/East, in Memphis, TN, surrounded by his loving family, Rosco Lee "Pean" Houston, closed his eyes and went peaceful to sleep. He leaves his memories: his eight sisters: Elizabeth (Russell) Buck, Rosemary Houston, Laura Tallie, Marilyn Nicholson, Barbara (Gary) Bolden, Essie Houston and Sharon (Bobby) Martin, all of Oxford, MS and Carolyn (Robert) Jones of Abbeville, MS; three step sisters: Barbara Howard of New Albany, MS; Constance Howard of Racine, WI and Angela Braxton, Washington of D.C.; a step brother: Samuel Howard of Washington, D.C.; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
"Pean" is preceded in death by his parents: Robert and Frankie Bell Houston; two sisters: Frankie Dean Houston and Frances Moore; a stepbrother: Robert McGlown and a nephew: Kendrick McLean.
The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusted in him, and I am helped: Therefore, my heart greatly rejoiceth: and with my song I will praise him. Psalm 28:7
