Mrs. Rosie Mae Wadley was born to the late R. C. and Arliner Thompson, July 3, 1937. She accepted Christ at an early age and joined East St. Peter M.B. Church where she was a member of the Mother Board. She remained a faithful member until her health failed.
Rosie received her formal education from the Lafayette County School system. She was married the late James Wadley and to this union five children were born.
She was employed at the University of Mississippi until retiring in August of 1991.
In her spare time, Rosie loved fishing, gardening, and listening to 95.5 radio station. She especially loved spending time with her family.
On Saturday, July 30, 2022, Rosie passed away at her home. She leaves to cherish her memories, one son, Willis (Tawanna) Wadley; one daughter, Linda (Neal) Thompson all of Abbeville, MS; eleven grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren; one sister, Ethel Mae Malone of Abbeville, MS; three brothers; Alton Jones of Memphis, TN, James Lee Thompson of Oxford, MS, and John Perry Pryor of Grand Raid, MI; one aunt, Josie Mae Burnette; one Uncle, Roger Thompson both of Memphis, TN; a daughter-in-law, Phyllis Wadley and a host of nieces and nephews.
Rosie was proceeded in death by her two daughters, Edna Wadley, Pearlie Clark, one son, James Wadley Jr., father, R. C. Thompson, mother, Arliner T. Jones, two sisters, Lynette Jones, and Shelia Tucker, and one brother, James Earl Thompson.
