Ruby Toles was born to the union of the late George & Laura Carr on January 30, 1936, in Springdale, MS.
She professed a hope in Christ at an early age and joined Springdale Methodist Church. She received her education at Springdale School.
She was united in holy matrimony to the late Broadis L. Toles, Sr. and to this union six children were born.
She later moved her membership to Mount Hope Missionary Baptist Church where she served as the Usher Ministry President, a member of the Deaconess Ministry and the Mission Ministry. She was a true Christian. Even after her health failed, she still loved and supported her church spiritually and financially.
She was a devoted housewife and was affectionately known as “Lady” by her husband Broadis Sr. She enjoyed raising her beautiful children. She loved God, family and friends. She touched the lives of a lot of people in and out of this community. She had a big heart full of genuine love and compassion for everyone.
She always had a beautiful smile and opened her heart and home to all. She enjoyed sewing, gardening, and babysitting.
A golden and beautiful soul went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, June 17, 2021, at 8:08 P.M. at Baptist Memorial Hospital surrounded by her family and loved ones.
To cherish her memories, she leaves her loving children: sons, James (Angela) Toles of Warner Robins, GA, Broadis (Brenda)Toles of Water Valley, MS, Kenneth(Shirley) Toles of Water Valley, MS, Christopher (Channon)Toles of Reno, NV, and daughters, Janice(Eugene) Burt of Columbus, Georgia and Laura Wadlington of Taylor, MS., brothers, Jonas(Dannish)Carr, and Johnny (Clara)Carr both of Chicago, IL, Stacy (Gladys)Carr of Union City, TN, Raymond( Katie) Carr of Water Valley, MS, one Sister, Annie Martin of Taylor, MS, two sisters-in-laws, Ruth Smith of Holly Springs, MS, and Ara Perry of Memphis, TN, 24 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband: Broadis L. Toles,Sr., her parents, George & Laura Carr, and one sister, Maggie Carr Turner.
