Sallie Mae (Boone) Jones

Sallie Mae Jones, daughter of Marcus and Almedia Isom Boone, was born in Lafayette County, Mississippi on December 11, 1934. Sallie accepted Christ at an early age and became a member of East Providence Missionary Baptist Church where she remained until she was called home.

Sallie received her education in the Lafayette County School and attended Oxford Training School. She was an active member of East Providence M.B Church where she served on the Mother's Board, Mission Ministry and was Treasurer of Baptist Training Union (BTU) and served faithfully until her health failed. 

Sallie was a homemaker and the mother of five wonderful children. She enjoyed fishing, working, babysitting and shopping. Sallie had such a warm gently smile and a kind hearted spirit. But on Sunday morning, April,  26, 2020, while in her home, her gently spirit took flight and went to receive a resting place. She will be lovingly missed by her children: Odelia Delbridge, Melvin Jean (Ramey) Westbrook, and Fannie Bratcher all of Oxford MS and Lisa Archie of Lawrenceville GA and Scott (Monica) Jones of Lawrenceville GA; 10 children, 20 great grandchildren and a host of great-great grandchildren. She also leaves a host other family and friends.
