Remembering Miss Tanisha LaShelle Lewis
Tanisha was born May 7, 1982, to Shelia Lewis and the late Charles Lewis, Jr., in Union County, MS. She professed Christ at an early age in at Union Hill MB Church where she remained a member. Tanisha loved to dress up, shop, and get her hair and nails done. She also loved to travel. She was a proud graduate of Lafayette High School Class of 2001. After high school, Tanisha went on to further her education, receiving a Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice and a Master's Degree in Psychology. Tanisha worked in Dallas, Texas for many years at a correctional facility as an Adult Probation Officer, and was currently employed with Garda-World Security.
Tanisha leaves to cherish her memories: her mother: Shelia Lewis of Abbeville, MS; Two brothers: Dexter Lewis and Michael Lewis of Abbeville, MS; Aunts: Linda Nesbit of Etta, MS, Jessie Thompson and Alice Faye Pegues of Oxford, MS, Fairstene (Johnny) Webb of Oxford, MS, Linda Mack of Chicago, IL, Regena (William) Evans of Memphis, TN, Bridgette (Michael) Woods of Abbeville, MS, and Renae (Nelson) Brenson of Meadville, LA. Uncles: Ivan (Isophene) Owens of Potts Camp, MS, Charles (Betty) Lewis of Clarksdale, MS, and Richard (Debra) Lewis of Memphis, TN. Nieces: Yasmine Alexander, Kiyah Buford, Faith Lewis, Leah Turner, Christiana Lewis, and Asanti Rogers. Nephew: Dexter Lewis, Jr., and a host of family, friends, and co-workers.
Tanisha was preceded in death by her father: Charles Lewis, Jr.; brother: Christopher Owens; grandparents: Gracie Mae Smith, Charlie Smith, Jr, Charles Lewis, Sr, and Lavonia Lewis.
