Terence “Jody” Jenkins was born on November 20, 1970, to Cornelius Jenkins and Hazeltten Harris Jenkins in Oxford, Mississippi. He received his education in the Oxford City School District in Oxford, MS.
He gave his life to Christ at an early age and became a member of East Providence Missionary Baptist Church. Jody was introduced to Christ at an early age and always had an Easter suit and speech (which he often joked about). His favorite scripture was John 3:16 which was instilled in him by his favorite Sunday School teacher, Sis. Sarah Redmond.
Jody ALWAYS had a smile on his face. He had more teeth than the average person. He never met or knew a stranger. Wherever he went, he would find a friend. He loved talking on his phone and ordering others to do what he wanted. Jody had lifelong and very devoted friends. He was loved.
Based on his medical condition, he moved to Baldwyn, MS to seek treatment. He was one of their star residents, and always had to be the center of attention. He would advise and counsel them when they asked him. He would make them laugh with his jokes. He was a person they would never forget. Despite his hesitation to be “confined” as he called it, once again he found and made friends with the staff and especially his roommate, Charles Brigman.
Terance departed his life on November 23, 2023, at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo, Mississippi. His devoted and loving mother died one day later. Some may consider it sad, but if you knew them then you know this is how it was supposed to happen. Jody loved his Mama San and Mama San loved Jody. His brother and sister often joked that he was the FAVORITE��
