Terry Lee Bass, Sr., was born on July 17,1967, in Columbus, MS, to Johnny Ray Bass and Shirley Ivy. At an early age he professed a hope in Christ. Terry was a beloved son, brother, father, and grandfather whose presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Terry was a proud graduate of Oxford High School and served honorably in the United States Army, where he developed a strong sense of duty and commitment. After his military service, he dedicated over a decade to McDonald's, working his way up from cook to District Manager, showcasing his strong work ethic and leadership skills. He later excelled as a Sales Consultant at Barnes Crossing Hyundai, Camping World, and Great American RV, where he was known for his competitiveness, resilience, dedication and professionalism.
Outside of work, Terry was passionate about sports, particularly football and baseball, and enjoyed sharing these interests with his family and friends.
On Wednesday, August 21, 2024, in Memphis, TN, Terry entered into an eternal rest. He is survived by his loving mother: Shirley Ivy; brother: Rontae Bass; three sons: Courtney Bass, Terrance Bass, and Terry Bass Jr.; two grandsons and one niece.
Terry is predeceased by his father: Johnny Ray Bass; stepfather: Arthur D. Ivy; maternal grandmother: Zula Mae Carter; maternal great-grandmother: Thelma Hubbard; and maternal grandfather: George McGee.
Terry will be remembered for his big personality, unwavering spirit, dedication to family, and the love he spread to everyone around him. May he rest in peace.
