Tony “Pretty Tony” Carter, Beloved Father, Grandfather, Brother, Uncle and Friend, was born on November 19, 1962, to Mrs. Zula Mae Zinn Carter and Mr. C.O. Carter, in Water Valley MS. His intimate family was blessed to witness his acceptance of Jesus Christ as his personal Lord and Savior prior to his departure and he transitioned peacefully in the presence of his loved ones on Jan 19, 2025, at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo MS.
Tony had an everlasting interest and love for horses since he was a young boy. He also enjoyed motorcycles, horse shows, rodeos, flashy cars and making money. He obtained his GED and also trained for his certification in Diesel Mechanics in Des Moines, IA by way of Joliet, IL.
Tony had a powerfully dominant personality and he never met a person he would shy away from telling things straight. For him to give you his wisdom and advisement was for him to show you love, unconditionally. You knew he meant every word he said and he wanted nobody that he loved to fail. To understand him was to understand that that was his way of doing his part.
He was a highly Intelligent man, with a tenacity and will power such that he Could and Did, achieve everything he set his mind to do.
Tony was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother: Thelma Hubbard; his mother: Zula Mae Zinn; his father: C.O. Carter; his brother: Clemmie D. Carter: his sister: Thelma Carter; nephew: Terry Lee Bass, Sr., and a granddaughter: Adrielle Nevaeh Wright.
He leaves to cherish his memories: His daughter: Ebonee Carter of Washington DC; His son: Darrie” Jermaine (Miracle) Townsend of Oxford MS; seven sisters: Shirley Ivy (Arthur D./deceased) Ivy of Oxford MS, Margaret Ann Carter of Joliet IL, Sharon Carter Mathis and Karen Price, both of Arlington TX, Katina Ali of Olive Branch MS, Michelle Cantrell (Willie) of Southaven MS and Stayce (Syed) Abidi of Houston TX; 3 Brothers: Junior Lee Carter of Oxford MS, Paul (Sandra) Bean of Houston MS, Jockey Justice of Houston MS; eight grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews and his former wife and lifelong friend: Amey Carter; his significant other: Jamie Boone, and many other relatives and friends.
Please keep the Carter family in your prayers.
