Tony Curtis Jones, son of Curlie Jones and Mattie Sue Hilliard, was born November 5, 1971 in Lafayette County, Mississippi. He accepted Christ as his Savior and united with Philadelphia MB Church.
Tony received his formal education in the Oxford School District and was a graduate of the Oxford High School Class of 1991. After high school he worked as a cook for the Beacon Restaurant and Oby’s Restaurant.
Tony joined in holy matrimony to Myrtle Alexander and to this union one child was born, a daughter, Danielle. He later became the father of another daughter, Tamiaya. Tony was a very proud dad.
Tony was a quiet man, one who kept to himself but would help anyone he could when needed. Even though he cooked for a living, Tony was a great mechanic. He could pull a motor from a vehicle and put it back running smooth, all in the same day. He was also an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and had a gun collection. If you knew Tony, you knew that smile. That smile… it was a smile that was like a flower that blossomed in the spring.
On Saturday morning, March 27, 2021, surrounded by his loving family, Tony left this early home, moved to his heavenly home, for that great party in the sky. Now he's with love ones that had gone on before him; his mother: Mattie Sue; his father: Curtis; his sister: Cynthia Price; brother: Sylvester "Tony" Westbrook; and his niece: Rotarica Garner.
Tony leaves to cherish his memories: his daughters: Tamiaya Bell of Abbeville MS, and Danielle Jones of Hattisburg MS; his sister: Sharron Jones of Oxford MS; nephews: Brian Murphy, Kyng Jones, Brian Murphy, Jr. all of Springfield OH; Amir Price of Hattisburg MS; and a niece: Shamanda Price of Hattisburg MS.
