Ulysses Grant Henderson was born September 9, 1950 to the late Emmett Henderson Sr. and AC Woods Henderson. He professed his faith in Christ at an early age and joined Second Baptist Church in his hometown of Oxford, Mississippi.
"Ulsee (YOULL-SEE)", as he was affectionately known, received his education through Jobs Corps. Gaining a career in janitorial services, he worked his way up to manager, managing buildings throughout north Mississippi. On December 28, 1971, Ulysses united in matrimony to the love of his life, Bonnie Mosley Henderson. They were blessed with three children: Daphne, Darel, and Kim.
Ulsee loved taking care of his yard and playing with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. His favorite color was blue and upon retiring he purchased his dream truck, in striking blue of course, which he adored. He loved the Lord and his church family dearly, continuing to serve others even as he endured his own health challenges.
On Sunday, May 19, 2024, the Lord called his faithful servant Ulysses home. He departed this life peacefully, surrounded by his closest family.
Ulysses leaves to cherish his memory, his loving and supportive wife, Bonnie Mosley Henderson of Oxford, MS; one son, Darel Patrick Henderson of Carlstadt, NJ; and two daughters: Daphne (Anthony) Blake of Oxford, MS, and Kimberly Henderson of Wichita, KS. He leaves three brothers: Emmett (Carol) Henderson Jr. of Atlanta, GA; Robert (Edna) Henderson of Oxford, MS, Eddie (Lee) Henderson of Chicago, IL, and one sister: Barbara (Melvin) Jackson of Chicago, Il. He also leaves four loving grandchildren and three adorable great grandchildren.
Preceding Ulysses in death were his parents, Emmett and AC Henderson and a brother, Morgan Henderson.
Please keep the Henderson family in your prayers.
