Mr. Walter H. Rowsey, son of the late Bernice and Amos Rowsey, was born on May 18, 1959. He accepted Christ at an early age and became a member of Union Hill C.M.E. Church, in Water Valley, MS. In later years, 2005, Walter was ordained as a deacon at Bayson Chapel M.B. Church in Water Valley. He later united with Kingdom Movement Community Church in Coffeeville, MS, under the leadership of Dr. Marcus Dudley and it was during his tenure under Dr. Dudley on January 24, 2015, that he announced his calling into the gospel ministry to preach God's word.
Walter received his formal education in the Water Valley School District. It was there that he met his high school sweetheart, Erma, and fell in love with the love of his life. Erma preceded him in death. Throughout his life, he enjoyed those precious times around his grandchildren. He dedicated himself to his work with the Foster Grandparent Program at North Mississippi Regional Center, where he was known for his love and compassion as a grandparent.
On Wednesday, January 14, 2026, Minister Walter Rowsey departed this earthly life for a destination of eternal life with the Lord. He leaves a legacy of warmth and kindness. His radiant smile and powerful prayers leaves a lasting impact on everyone he met.
