Willie Archie Obituary

Willie Harvey Archie, son of Essie Lee Smith Archie and Frank Archie was born in Lafayette County, Mississippi on December 21, 1952. Raised in a Christian home, he accepted Christ at an early age and joined Second Missionary Baptist Church in Oxford, MS.

Willie graduated from Oxford High School class of 1971. After high school, in spring of 1974, he enlisted in the United States Air Force where he gave unwavering commitment and selfless service for 20 years as a Metal Fabricating Specialist and Morale, Welfare, Recreation and Services Journeyman. Willie separated from the Air Force in 1994 to move and settle in Charleston, SC where he began a private sector career, working for the Department of Veteran Affairs.

Willie was a devoted family man, believed in hard work, and discipline to be successful. His greatest joy was spending time with his family, whose love was the cornerstone of his life. He was open to adventure, believed in seeing the world, and trying anything at least once. He had a smile and laugh that was contagious in any room.
