Willie Mae Elizabeth (Farr) Barry

Willie Mae Elizabeth Farr Barry was born in Oxford, MS to the union of Travis Farr and Emma (nee Ivy) Farr on May 6th, 1951. Willie Mae graduated from Central High school in 1969. Willie Mae attended nursing school and later in life received an associate of science. She married Thomas E. Barry and from this union, children were born.

Willie Mae was a nurturer who always gave her time to others. She worked at North Mississippi Regional Center until her health status changed. In her pastime, she loved reading the Bible, playing word puzzles and taking care of her various plants. She also took care of children, especially her great grandchildren. She was a member of Burns United Methodist Church, which later changed to Oxford First United Methodist Church.

Willie Mae Barry departed this life on May 29, 2023. She is survived by her children: Shawnda (John) Liggins (nee Barry), Stephanie Barry, Bobby (Pam) Barry and Melissa Barry; sisters: Carrie (Carl) Mitchell, Sabrina Vaughn, Margaret Ann Redmond; 5 grandchildren, 7 great- grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by parents: Emma and Travis Farr; her former husband, Thomas E. Barry; brothers: Travis Farr, Henry Farr and Willie James Farr and her niece, Khuranda Lachay Redmond.
