Zakarious DeMon Vaughn

Zackarious DeMon Vaughn, one of twin boys, born December 16, 1996, to Felicia Vaughn. He was raised, along with is twin brother, Jackarious, by his father figure, Derrick Gipson. With all of Zack’s physical limitations, and even though he could not attend church like others, he knew the Lord and felt the goodness of the Lord every day.

Zack attended the Scott Child Development Center in Oxford where they focused on learning and growth. He loved to learn, especially about trucks, cars and motorcycles. He also enjoyed spending time playing with his family, and he was never short on playmates with seven other siblings around.   

Unfortunately, due to Zacks medical condition, in 2016, he was placed in a medical facility that offered the care that he needed. It was at Methodist Specialty Care Center that Zack spent his last years. On Wednesday, February 5, 2025, while in University Mississippi Medical Center (UMMC) in Jackson, Mississippi, Zack made a peaceful transition to be with the Lord.

He leaves to cherish his loving memory: his mother: Felicia Vaughn, Abbeville MS; Siblings: twin brother: Jackarious, Montez and Keyunnia Vaughn and Jamariun and Damariun Gipson, all of Abbeville, MS, Tiayanna and Ayanna Jones of Batesville, MS; his father figure: Derrick Gipson; grandfather: Avant Vaughn; four aunts: Ashley (Michael) Vaughn of Pontotoc MS, Bobbie (Sammie) Burton of Abbeville MS, Gloria (Willie) Bogard and Flora (Alvin) Dean of Oxford MS; two uncles: Avant (Lisa) Vaughn of Omaha NE and Charles (Mary) Herod of Abbeville MS and a host of cousins, other relatives and friends.

Zackarious was preceded in death by his grandmother: Shirley Mae Herod; cousins: Lititia Pointdexter and Charles Herod; his uncles: Tim Herod and Leland Herod.
